Frequently asked questions:

  • What does regulated and unregulated output mean?  It means that while in regulation the light will have an output of 280 Lumens then it will drop out of regulation and the batteries will draw down slowly over the unregulated period.

  • What is the difference between P4,Q5,R2,R5 and XML? These are also known as bins they represent the bin that Cree produced these chips for.  Each level from P4 up gets brighter.  We currently stock the XML-U2.

  • What is an Aspheric lens? An Aspheric lens allows you to adjust the beam from a floody bean to a tight spot.

  • What is the difference between the Defender and the Sniper?  For the most part they are the same light except the Defender has a strike edged bezel.  That Bezel will also work on the Sniper.

  • What is the difference between Cree HO and Digital Cree HO?  They are the same brightness the only difference is the digital lamp is offered in different modes.  The most common is high-med-low-strobe
